Somatic Experiencing, Enneagram, & Holistic Nervous System Support

Integrative Somatic Trauma support for

Adults in NKY/Cincinnati or Online

Meagan Connley, Somatic Trauma Practitioner, Somatic Experiencing provider, Founder of Presence With Love, Female in Cincinnati

If you want to feel different, you have to feel - differently

Stress, overwhelm, burnout, exhaustion, numbness—it’s real.

Ease, relief, joy, presence, capacity, nourishment, safety, and health are also very real. And not just real, but possible. Even for you.

It feels like our earth, and our bodies as a representation of earth, are begging for care. How loud does she have to scream to get your attention?

As we say in somatics, the way out is through. So if you want to not feel pain, you have to first feel the pain. That’s what I’m here for.

Nothing you say or do here will be too much/not enough, wrong or bad. I’m ready to gently, with presence and love (and maybe a little laughter and some swear words), help you feel your way through trauma and through health and aliveness—because isn’t that the point of healing after all?

feeling stuck in talk therapy?

Talk therapy is extremely important and valuable, and is an aligned fit for many of us at various stages of our lives.

And -

At some point, we can start to feel like we are spiraling. We have hit a plateau. We can sense there is something else, something calling us.

Perhaps, it is your body. Perhaps, it is time to turn toward the things that have been shoved down, ignored, and avoided. Perhaps, even a little bit, you feel ready to explore more of what is inside.

getting started: new client

somatic foundations program

As a new client, we will start working together through an on-boarding program that includes:

  • Five, one-hour sessions (virtual or in-person in NKY/Cincinnati area), scheduled bi-weekly, allowing space for your nervous system to integrate

  • Education on the nervous system and Somatic Experiencing® frameworks

  • Practical lifestyle habits for supporting nervous system health

  • Custom practices and prompts after each session for your ongoing embodied exploration

Option to add on voice/text support throughout the program

Intentions of this program:

  • Get to know your nervous system, and each other

  • Connect with the body in a slow, gentle, spacious way through education, curiosity, and somatic experiences

  • Move at a pace that works for you, not rushing or pushing for too much too fast (that would be re-traumatizing!)

  • Start to build important and fundamental somatic skills that can be used in everyday life and for doing deeper trauma resolution work

  • Support with growing awareness of and capacity for experiencing resource, regulation, safety, and stabilization

This program is meant to be a comprehensive yet condensed introduction to the essentials of somatics, which can be valuable in itself or further expanded upon for more extensive trauma healing through a longer container (outlined below).

Investment: $699, payment plan available, limited scholarship positions available

somatic trauma work: building on the foundations

After the new client somatic foundations program, we will have gotten to know your nervous system and each other, setting the stage for us to gently and sustainably move deeper into direct emotion processing, pattern shifting, and trauma resolution.

This process is unique for each individual, and will continue to be attuned to your pace and readiness. We never have to go anywhere you and your body don’t want to go, and this isn’t about re-living the past.

Healing means there is integration, there is wholeness, capacity, choice, and presence. It means new patterns and new ways of being. This takes time. We can’t predict exactly how much, but remember, we have lived with trauma responses for a long time, so things likely won’t change overnight.

ongoing somatic work: maintenance and evolution for returning clients

Healing is not linear. We move in spirals, in rhythms, in seasons. I am here to meet you with the support you need in this phase of life.

After the extensive trauma work, you may wish to check in occasionally to process new experiences of life or to explore things that have emerged with time.

Options here include scheduling single sessions as desired or purchasing a package of sessions at a discounted rate.

If we have worked together at some point and you are curious to explore what may be a fit for you in this season, feel free to reach out via email or schedule a free consult. I would love to reconnect, see how we both have evolved over time, and explore what might be supportive for you in this season.

what clients are saying…

somatic work with me might be for you if…

♦ You can name your patterns & analyze yourself, but aren’t seeing lasting change

♦ You have chronic physical health symptoms and mostly “normal” lab results

♦ You are tired, burnt out, and exhausted from trying all the things

♦ You are moving through a transition (family, life stage, work) that is asking a lot of your mind and body

♦ You’ve lived most of your life for other people or following “shoulds” and you want something different for yourself

♦ You are going through something shitty and don’t want to do it alone

♦ You’ve repressed your emotions and disconnected from your body for so long you feel numb/overwhelmed and aren’t sure where to start

♦ You identify as highly-sensitive and empathic and know you need to focus on your own care and boundaries

♦ You’ve tried different healing modalities and might be losing hope that you will ever feel better

♦ You have spent so long healing you aren’t sure what it means to fully live into your health & desires

It is not within my scope of practice to diagnose or claim to treat any specific conditions. At the same time, most of my clients are coming in with some language around symptoms, conditions, and different lived experiences. With this work, I have supported folks who are living with / have experienced:

Anxiety, body image concerns & healing relationship with food, chronic stress/burnout, car accidents, chronic pain, complex/developmental trauma, concussions & falls/injuries, depression, major loss, medical trauma, menstrual cycle symptoms, navigating relationship with religion, obsessive thoughts, sexual abuse, and other traumatic events or manifestations of chronic nervous system dysregulation. Please reach out with questions and we can explore if I am a fit or if I may refer you to another provider.

my approach to somatics

I know that we can really seek ‘the thing’ that will make us feel better. The magic pill, diet, class, guide or other experience that seems like it will take away the pain and ‘heal’ us, and ideally make it go away fast.

You are your own healer. You have the answers you need within you. No one is going to heal you besides you. Your body fucking knows the way. And it also knows, this won’t happen overnight.

I know this isn’t really what you want to hear. And yet, is there any part of you that might feel relief, and maybe even a little empowered? You haven’t been doing it wrong, you don’t have to do more, you don’t have to be in a hurry, and you don’t have to search so hard.

The pain has something to teach you, and you get to become the medicine.

I believe our bodies are so resilient, that many modalities are supportive throughout a healing journey, and that somatic skill supports the integration of all our healing efforts.

And, with all of this, while we are our own healers, we can’t do it alone. We are human, a social species, with nervous systems wired for co-regulation and connection. I’ve heard it said…

‘We are hurt in relationship, and we heal in relationship.’

I believe it is our birthright to feel safe in our bodies, to know the experience of safety in a way that we know things beyond the mind. In many ways, I have privilege to feel safe based on factors of my appearance, identity, and lineage. And, I haven’t always known that safety. Somatic work transformed my felt-sense experience of every day life.

I acknowledge that our individual work can support tremendous healing and increase the capacity for feeling safe, and also, we can live in systems and structures that don’t support our safety. In our work together, we can grieve and feel anger about the harm of our society, acknowledging all of the personal ways you have been hurt and endangered, and we can support your capacity to feel liberation in yourself, right here and now, even a little bit.

Together, with others who are healing all over, we send ripples out into the world and show up with our embodied skill, presence, and love to be the change we wish to see.
